Description
CCN Bio TEV Protease is a highly active recombinant protease derived from Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) and engineered for enhanced stability and performance compared to the native enzyme. It is widely used for the removal of affinity tags from recombinant fusion proteins following purification.
TEV Protease exhibits exceptional sequence specificity, recognizing the consensus cleavage sequence EXXYXQ↓(G/S), with the most commonly used recognition site being ENLYFQ↓G. Cleavage occurs between the glutamine (Q) residue and the glycine (G) or serine (S) residue, allowing precise generation of the desired N-terminus on the target protein.
The enzyme demonstrates optimal activity at pH 7.0 and 30°C, while maintaining robust activity over a broad range of conditions (pH 6.0–8.5 and 4–30°C). This flexibility allows digestion conditions to be tailored to the stability requirements of individual target proteins.
CCN Bio TEV Protease contains an N-terminal His-tag, enabling convenient removal of the protease after digestion using CCN Bio Ni-NTA Magnetic Beads or other immobilized metal affinity chromatography (IMAC) resins.
This product is supplied without a digestion buffer, allowing users to optimize reaction conditions for their specific applications.
