Description
CCN Bio Micrococcal Nuclease (MNase) is a recombinant endo-exonuclease derived from Staphylococcus aureus that efficiently degrades single-stranded and double-stranded DNA, RNA, chromatin, and nucleoprotein complexes. The enzyme preferentially cleaves nucleic acids at AT-rich regions, generating oligonucleotides with 3′-phosphate and 5′-hydroxyl termini.
Micrococcal Nuclease is widely used in chromatin biology, epigenetics, molecular biology, and protein purification workflows. It is particularly useful for chromatin digestion, nucleosome mapping, removal of contaminating nucleic acids from protein preparations, and preparation of samples for downstream sequencing and structural biology applications.
CCN Bio Micrococcal Nuclease is calcium-dependent and exhibits robust activity under physiological conditions. The enzyme can be readily inactivated by chelating agents such as EGTA or EDTA, allowing precise control of digestion reactions.
