Description
CCN Bio 3C Protease is a recombinant protease derived from Human Rhinovirus (HRV) 3C protease and engineered for highly specific removal of affinity tags from recombinant fusion proteins. The enzyme recognizes the amino acid sequence LEVLFQ↓GP and cleaves specifically between the glutamine (Q) and glycine (G) residues.
Due to its high specificity and activity at low temperatures, CCN Bio 3C Protease is widely used for the removal of GST, His, MBP, and other affinity tags while preserving the structural integrity and biological activity of target proteins.
The protease efficiently cleaves fusion proteins containing the HRV 3C recognition sequence and is compatible with many commonly used expression vectors and custom recombinant constructs. Cleavage efficiency may vary depending on the target protein, and optimization of enzyme concentration, incubation time, and temperature is recommended.
CCN Bio 3C Protease contains an N-terminal GST tag, allowing convenient removal of the protease following digestion using glutathione affinity resins or magnetic beads.
This product is supplied without a digestion buffer, providing flexibility for optimization under individual experimental conditions.
CCN Bio 3C Protease may be used as an alternative to commercially available PreScission Protease products. The enzyme recognizes the same HRV 3C protease cleavage sequence commonly incorporated into GST fusion protein vectors and recombinant protein purification workflows.
